I wanted to keep the invitations simple yet striking, and entirely focused on the typography.
With the use of the beautiful fonts Mirella Script and Bickham Script Pro I was able to develop
these final outcomes, with their elegant flourishes and intricate lettering. 

The “Put on your dancing shoes” invitation was sent out to the older friends and family members.

“Come flail with me” – a play on the better known “Come fly with me” – sums up my sister entirely.
And I mean that in the nicest way possible. She chose to send this invitation to the friends and
family that were acquainted with her quirky side.

Now who said that this was a posh affair? The “Get on it like a car bonnet” invitations were sent
out to those friends that liked to party until they dropped.

And drop they did. 

Full-on face-planting at a family party.

Priceless.

The invitations were printed on Matt 280gsm card, and filled with block colour on the back.
Beautiful.

I created a series of typographic prints of meaningful quotes that had each played a special
part in our lives when growing up.

Ever since I can remember my mum would sing to my sister and I at night when we shared a
bedroom. She would sing one line and then we would sing back to her. It went something like this:

Mum: “Do you, do you, do you, do you love me?”

Us: “Uh-huh”

Mum: “Do you, do you, do you, do you care?”

Us: “Uh-huh”

Mum: “Do you think think something very special of me?”

Us: “Uh-huh”

Mum: “With my lovely long blonde hair!”

It was one of those very special interactions that stays with you forever and is something
that I’ll probably try out with my own kids someday when they too are tired and just want
to go to sleep.

Now this quote doesn’t seem very sentimental at face value, I know. It’s probably one of those
‘should have been there’ things. This quote came from my Grandma who seemed to revel in
endearingly smacking her grandchildren’s bottoms. Whenever you heard her rub her hands
together and exclaim “I want to smack that bottom!” you knew it was time to try and make a
run for it.

The final quote came from my lovely Grandad. Whenever my sister and I would stay at our
Grandparents house, my Grandad would always make us home-made chips with bread and butter.
Absolutely nothing beats Grandad’s chips. He’d serve them up with a bit of salt and say “Get that
down you and you’ll feel like a king!”.

As my sister, like me, is a lover of all things meaningful or typographic I had hoped that these
might be the perfect little present to give to her on her special day. And it turns out I was right!
At first she thought that I’d had them made online, and I was very happy to correct her!

I created a conceptual charity called “Prostate Matters” to headline the campaign.

The poster series was designed to goad men into going to the doctors – which is one of the
main issues regarding the subject.

The Prostate Matters website was designed to be the main source for information regarding
prostate cancer. With the vast amount of the target market being 80+, as 80% of men over the
age of 80 have a small area of prostate cancer, the website was designed to be as easily usable
and concise as possible.

The booklet series was developed to target both the victims and their loved ones. An A3
foldable booklet was designed to be sent in the post, providing the most important facts
about the prostate and cancer.

Novelty merchandise was created, available to buy from the site. The merchandise turned
the campaign back on itself, giving the men some control over the subject.

Promotional beer mats were created to be sent in the post along with the “Prostate, Cancer
and You” booklets, ensuring that the recipients could take something away from the
campaign instead of possibly immediately disregarding it.

The tagline for the campaign, “Turn your fear into action”, was developed as a tool to
encourage men to react positively to the campaign, and hopefully seek to remedy any
previous lack of consideration for the subject. 

This was the second conceptual website that I had coded, and I enjoyed building upon my
previous experience. Within this website I included a Flash animated introductory page,
scroll-over gifs and lightbox image overlays.

This was my first bash at Website Coding. During my 2nd Year we were asked to design and code
a conceptual website for the Vancouver Olympics. As I had never been anywhere near HTML or
CSS in my life it was quite a challenge to get to grips with it in the month that we had to complete
it, though it was something I thoroughly enjoyed.
